About the role
This position reports to the Discipline Head of Exercise and Sport Science within the School of Health Sciences and is based at the Sydney campus. The role involves teaching across both Sport and Exercise Science, with a particular emphasis on Clinical Exercise Physiology. Applicants should have a strong background in Clinical Exercise Physiology to support their contributions to this area.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, research informed teaching in Sport and Exercise Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology, using innovative blended learning approaches and assessments to enhance student engagement and satisfaction.
- Maintain professional accreditation and active involvement in the field as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with Exercise & Sport Science Australia (ESSA).
- Collaborate with the Practicum Coordinator to identify and support practicum opportunities for undergraduate Clinical Exercise Physiology students.
- Contribute to student recruitment and engagement activities, including marketing, enrolment, and orientation events.
- Undertake administrative and course-related responsibilities to support effective program delivery.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Strong commitment to and alignment with the Objects of the University.
- PhD in Sport and Exercise Science or Clinical Exercise Physiology, and registration with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP).
- Experience in clinical practice as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP).
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching and curriculum development in Exercise and Sports Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology.
- Proven academic teaching excellence, with the ability to integrate industry experience into teaching and research.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage academic responsibilities and meet deadlines; experience in cardiorespiratory exercise rehabilitation and exercise oncology is desirable.
